Men are not islands unto themselves, and are
most weak when they are.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though
one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is
not quickly broken. (NIV)
Those strands are us and together we
journey through life in one mission, look like Christ, be like Christ, act like
Christ, conform to His image. When we do that, all other aspects of
biblical living are taken care of.
We need men disciplining men today and
the church in whole is in desperate need of real men…. Men of Valor
WHAT IS VALOR?
Valor comes from the
Latin valorem for “strength, moral worth,” with the sense of
“courage” added later.
Webster defines it, “to be men of
courage and fearlessness especially in battle” or “strength of mind or spirit
that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness – courage and decisiveness”.
- Valor is often
displayed in the face of something designed to crush it, like a battle in a
war, and it is often rewarded with the conferring of a medal.
- Valor is a word
associated with war heroes and knights of yore, but anyone who faces death and
doesn’t look away displays valor.
To be strong
in mind, heart and spirit, to be courageous, to act even in fear showing
fearlessness, to live with a steely determination of firmness and decisiveness.
MAN
“an adult male person, as
distinguished from a boy or a woman” Dictionary.com……. “an individual human:
especially an adult male, a bipedal primate mammal (Homo sapiens) that is
anatomically related to great apes but distinguished especially by notable
development of the brain…” Merriam-Webster
We know that
is wrong, we know we are more than that as we are created in the image of God…. And since
the fall, that is - sin entering man, we are flawed. Through the Holy Spirit,
we now strive to be conformed to the image of Jesus, the ultimate man of Valor.

MEN OF VALOR...
We are in a
war for purity and righteousness, in a battle for our families, in a conflict
for the kingdom of God, and for the church against the very gates of hell.
Gods demands
and deserves it, your wives, your children, your grandchildren, your family,
friends, coworkers, family of Christ and the world need you to be. As men of
valor, we want to live with clear consciences and hearts of courage to do valiantly
and live victoriously through God to His glory. Men of Valor are elusive
in a world that’s lost its moral compass, yet every man should strive to be one.
We can aspire to be the men God calls us to be--men of integrity and honor.
Ubiquitous Discipleship
Ubiquitous Discipleship means that everything that is
involved with Men of Valor will be focused on the personal growth of each man
involved.
Ubiquitous – “his ubiquitous influence is felt by
the family” existing or being everywhere at the same time, a constant,
widespread, encountered.
We will all be engaged in the planning, organizing, and
implementation of the meetings, and will be encouraged to participate in a way
that will enhance the development of each of us in our roles as leaders in our
homes, our workplaces, our church, and our communities.
We will leave no man behind and be an influence in one
another’s lives as we seek to become the best disciples of Christ, pleasing to
Him in every way.
