Consider This: Holiness or Defilement? (Haggai 2:10-19)

As Christians, we do many things that are out of service to the Lord. The question then becomes: are these just mere actions or are they sincere and out of a heart to be holy and set apart for the Lord? As we jump back into our ‘Haggai: Consider This’ series, we see that this is something that Haggai brought to the people even then. The people had returned to “work” for the Lord, but their lives were still described as unclean/defiled. They certainly were not holy and set apart like God’s people were called to be. Listen to see how this happened, what holiness truly looks like, as well as how a believer can truly be holy and set apart for God.

Haggai Consider This...

At the beginning of Haggai, the Lord asks the people twice to consider their ways. What prompted this? What does this even mean? How does the situation found in Haggai practically impact us today? We will explore all of these questions as we open the book of Haggai, and we will see that what the people were doing (and weren’t doing) should give us caution today as we, too, consider our ways before the Lord and what He has called us to do.
